Newsletter - Summer 2010 Sleepy Hollow Performing Artists has had a break through, fantastic year! We are once again the recipients of Westchester Magazine's Best of Westchester Award for the best Hip Hop classes in Westchester! In October we packed the house with the teachers from the Irvington Education Foundation for a sold out Dancing With The Teachers II. This was a performance that the audience and participants will never forget! In December we performed with other dance companies in Westchester for Will Dance For Food, a fundraiser help the homeless. Sleepy Hollow Performing Artists was the platinum sponser for Briacliff Has Heart, a walk/run race to raise money for the Briarcliff Library, we also performed at the Briarcliff high school Dance A Thon, raising money for the Andrea Rizzo Foundation, which supports pediatric cancer research. We performed for a packed street at Third Friday in Tarrytown, at the farmer's market in Irvington, and in two major main stage productions: A Century of American Song and Dance and Nutcracker Now both at Irvington Town Hall Theater. We are widely recognized in Westchester County as an elite training ground for young performers and as a diverse and exciting company.
We are extremely proud of Kynan Welsh and Coleman Thomas who traveled to northern India during their school break this year. They taught breakdance and hip hop to children at an international school, in a remote village, at a school for Tibetan refugee children and at an orphanage. Stephanie Alexandris graduated from NYU this May (high honors) with a degree in communications. She is planning to move to Paris to pursue her dreams of working in fashion and styling. The members of our staff work as a team to ensure the studio is run in a highly organized and efficient manner. Sleepy Hollow Performing Artists employs only dedicated individuals who truly care about their “home away from home”; love what they do; and whose primary goals are the well being of our students and supporting our growth and vitality.
